Narrow is the path of honor

Close to the Facon kepp there is a large canyon where Stonescythe Alphas and Stonescythe Whelp dwell and which I hunt for Ranger Captain Venn’ren. But this guy will surely not keep his post for too long if he isn’t even able to make the few metres across the canyon himself and do his job. Maybe he simply is afraid of the worms in the ground which though beneath the surface seem to know exactly what is happing above and who break accurately through the ground to poison my poor Fzuughon.

Even though I have only explored a small part of the new world it does not seem very big. After finishing my job I am already that close to Thrallmar that it is much quicker to use my thunder steed and ride thereto instead of returning to the flight point and take the flight route. On my way I soon cross the so-called “Path of Honor”. This name is widely exagerated and seem more like a promenade for the followers of a “smashing hand”. Maybe I overdo the smashing a little bit when I take the time to look around a while.

And so I detect above the path some massive constructions: the cannons of the Alliance. Those lately went on my nerves with the thunder which could be heart up to Thrallmar. So it is a very satisfying feeling to ignite those sound machines. Now I could return to Thrallmar to report many fulfilled jobs and look forward to an undisturbed night’s sleep.

Trip to Zangarmarsh(2)

By Abalathes | August 22, 2010

Then I start to explore the surrounding and find some new herbs which I already knew from my alchemy books but never saw in real life: Flame Caps and Ragveils. Unfortunally I do not yet know how to collect them properly and so I have to leave them growing for now. But I find a camp of the Horde which has the poor name “Swamp Rat Camp” but at least it has a flight point. With one of the inhabitants, Magasha, I start a discussion on fashion and good food. She really likes my new hat, which I found today and as in addition it has the effect of increasing my power I decide to continue wearing it.

Magasha can cook very tasty mushroom dishes I decide to invite her to one of my fish meals for them. So I ride to the Umbrafenn lake and hunt some of the eels there until I got enough filets for a tasty feast. At the end of my fish hunt another rogue is swimming along. He is of level 70 and looks for a while with interest what I am about to do. But then he tries to get himself invisible and to sneak around. This did not really work but within the water I could not get away quickly enough. But rogues as well do not know much about the benefit of a soul stone and so this unpleasant fight did not keep me off too long from my lunch date. After a good meal it is time to get back home. As I do not know yet where exactly “home” would be in this new region I decide to fly back to the falcon keep.

Why the Falcon Guard has got its name is hard to guess. The only birds around are vultures and those dwell here in large swarms. At least that is making it easy to gather some tail feathers for high performance sniper arrows.

But further in the west the landscape suddenly changes. Here is the beginning of the so called Zangarmarsh which somehow is of eleven origin. While I still look around and fight some of the aggresive creatures around there is a rogue trying to sneak to me. But thanks to the paranoia of my felhound I notice that in time and simply change my position in combat. Unfortunally I could find the rogue no more after the fight.

Directly beyond the border the is a camp of Cenarius which seems to be neutral. At least the inhabitants behave quite neutrally and so I am carefully watching all those Allies who are allowed to visit that camp as well. I am not really sure whether the people here would come to help me in case I would get attacked by some of those Allies. Nevertheless I get a bunch of new jobs here but I can’t accept them all as my quest book is already very full with quests in the new world. So I take over only a few jobs to make at least a good impression and search(in vain) for a flight point.

The master’s book

By Abalathes | July 30, 2010

Because of all the threats which lurk in the new undiscovered world it is important to create a save base in the old world and to enforce new steps for taking my leadership there. Even though I already managed to get many strong followers from both fractions who are ready to strike on my command I have also to care for new blood. As a guide and help for all my followers I have written down my knowledge at least in some parts in a book.

It contains descriptions of my world with a list of flight points and a map of all connections between the regions (I haven’t included the planned connections there yet as their creation will start after my taking over the total dictatorship). To avoid possible problems quickly I added hundreds of exact descriptions of quest of the Horde and of the Alliance as well. And for all those who could not remember things well there is a list of all needed quest items. A description of races, classes and jobs also is part of the book.

This work written by my own hand should be published to be a service for all my followers and along with that I hand over the duty to let this book never get into the hands of my enemies. All writers,  explorers and tacticians among you are allowed to add articles of your own to increase the knowledge of the right side.

So here is bound in leather my handwritten work which glows bluely in magical lightning.

Addition:
This book is written in German. As this blog is the translation of the German version of the blog this blog article is included even though the linked collection of tipps and tricks might be difficult to read for english speaking users.

Not in my house

At the wrong place

It seems that the news about the new world have not yet reached the Alliance. At least not has it reached the level 70 priest who infiltrated the Undercity, probably by getting step by step through the sewers. But together with Blackjäger, a level 40 hero and a brave citizen I send him back to where he came from.

After I have done my businesses in the Undercity I return to the new world. There as well I immediately get involved into a fight. A large number of stone demons is falling from the sky in a rain of glowing balls and starts attacking the guards then. But after a short and intense battle there is nothing left of them then some material for building new roads.

But even the old world has some problems with the attack of demons. From my scout I get reports from Stormwind, one of the Alliance capitals, where strange portals have appeared and where the whole city is cut by a deep gap. Only with huge efforts the responsible magic doers get the problem under control and can hardly manage to deny the intrusion of alien creatures. In my lordship my followers are more on guard and already could start counter measures on the first sign of any suspicious change. Most probably due to the great might of the Horde it is much more difficult to establish a protal from another world to here.

Even though I did kill two aggressive Allies just before the message reached me, now I decide to work together with the Alliance against the new, unknown and probably evil. So I cooperate with Neobel, an Alliance mage whom I meet in Zeth’Gor where on demand we protect each other against enemy creatures. But this place will not be the hot spot for too long. Just one last time: when I ignite the huts, the stables and the barracks and whole Zeth’Gor dies in a wave of fire. On my return I bring Zezzak one of the eyes of Grillok to reduce his might as well.

After this I turn to the west again. I have to know what other dangers this world might provide and how large my new country is after all. So I find another outpost which presents itself in glowing colours and which has a high tower that allows me to get an impression of the surrounding. As already a lot of jobs are waiting here for me and should better hurry to get them done quickly.
